Google Photos is a photograph and video sharing and storage service by Google. It was announced in May 2015 and spun out from Google+, the company's social network. As its core features were previously embedded within Google+, the company's social network, it was important to promote that the new Google Photos included unlimited photo and video storage, and apps for Android, iOS, and the browser.
LosFX worked under the creative direction of Scatterlight Studios to create a video that illustrated in a real life situation how users could backup their photos to the cloud service, which would then become accessible between all of their devices connected to the service. The effort included on-set supervision, matchmoving and compositing of imagery to the phone screens in the videos that Scatterlight Studios filmed. LosFX also generated motion graphics assets that resembled the functionality of Google’s photo application (as it was still in development at the time the videos were being developed, in order to showcase its features on the spots).
